Roulette Tips: The Strategy
Playing roulette is more fun when you win. While roulette is a game of luck and there's no way to guarantee a winning session, a few strategy considerations can improve your odds of coming out ahead.
1. Try to Avoid the 00
American roulette wheels have a 0 and a 00, while European wheels have the single 0. Since roulette bets pay out according to what the odds would be if there were no zeroes on the wheel, the wheel with fewer zeroes is obviously better. You may be able to find a European roulette wheel in an American casino. If not, you can always find one online. Basically all online casinos offer the European version.
2. Avoid the Basket Bet
On American roulette tables, players can take the "basket bet," covering 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. Covering an odd group of numbers skews the odds a bit, and this bet offers the worst odds on the board for the player, with a House edge of nearly eight percent.
3. Beware of Systems
Betting systems like the Martingale, where you double your bet every time you lose, are risky ways of playing. They alter your win/loss pattern by creating a situation where you have a number of small wins and eventually one very large loss.

Playing Roulette: The Etiquette
Once you have approach the roulette table, you will now have the chance to place your bet or the money on the layout. Here you will receive some chips from the dealer that you can then use as your bets. You will now have the permission in a certain amount of time to place your bets and then there will be a 1 minute period in between each spin when you can place bets. The dealer will spin the wheel. Now once the dealer has announced this word “no more bets”, its a sign that you have no longer have the chance to place a bet. You will have to wait until the next spin.
The dealer will now put a marker on the roulette table corresponding to the slot where the ball fell and then once the ball drops. He will remove the losing bets and then pay the winning bets. After the winning bets have been paid, he will now remove the marker. Note: Do not touch your markers during this time. You will be asked to leave the casino if you do.
When you are playing the roulette wheel game it is important to be polite to everyone at all times. Be careful not to knock over anyone else chips and remember always speak in a respectful tone of your voice, right. It is considered as a good etiquette to give your dealer a tip after approximately every ten spins. This is a good way to show your appreciation to the dealer.
Roulette is a fun game, so relax and enjoy it. Don’t get too excited and bump into people, and don’t get drunk and start yelling. Roulette is a respectable game, and it is expected that you will display good manners while playing.

How to Play Online Casino Roulette: The Wheel
The wheel is a wonder of stochastic technology. Essentially a giant bowl, it is almost three feet across, with slightly canted walls. It weighs approximately one hundred pounds, and its surface walls are separated into thirty-seven (or thirty-eight) internal slots, called "pockets". Each pocket is just large enough to hold the twirling ball once it rests.
The pockets alternate between red and black (and odd and even). Each pocket has a number between 1 and 36. The exclusions to this are the zero pockets, which are painted green. The numbers are not in sequence nor are their placements totally random. The numbers have been arranged to attain the best balance between red and black, odd and even and high and low.
If you look at the wheel, you will notice that, placed directly across from each odd number is the next even number. Two odd numbers alternate with two even numbers. You can also see a version of this system near the zero pockets.
Two main types of wheels are available—European American. The sole distinction between the two is that the American version has two zero pockets, single zero (0) and double zero (00), while the European version has only the single zero pocket. This minor modification yields a substantial difference in the casino advantage. With a European wheel, the house advantage is roughly 2.70%, a good deal lower than the American wheel, whose house edge is 5.26%.

Explore the game of Roulette
Modern Roulette has been around since at least 1796, When the game was played in Paris in almost exactly the same form its played today. Let me give you the elements of the game as it is played: black and red slots in the wheels, and then numbers 1 through 36 and a 0 and a 00, etc. Well in Europe, the 00 was eventually removed, but still its a part of the game in the US.
Roulette has its origin in multiple other games. An italian ball game called "biribi" was also popular in France in the early 18th centuryand it was combined with another wheel game that involved colors but not numbers to make a modern roulette game. "Roly-poly" was an English game launched in 1720 which consisted of black and white slots. So roulette could possibly be considered a hybrid of both birib and Roly-poly.
In terms of how they played, roulette is the opposite of the game of craps. Craps might be all about excitement, roulette is all about being dignified and civilized. In terms of table games, roulette consistently makes less money than blackjack, craps, or baccarat, and in some casinos, there is only one roulette table to be found.

Spin The Wheel: The Basics Of Roulette
The unpredictability and excitement is what draws people to the game. The neophyte player might find roulette a little confusing, but like many other games, a little bit of basic know how can help him in his way around the roulette table.
The Roulette Wheel And Table
The roulette wheel is easily recognizable in the center of the betting table. The usual number of pockets in the wheel is 37, numbered from 0 to 36, alternating as black and red; the number zero is colored green.. In case of the American version of the game, an additional pocket, also colored green, is added, labeled as 00. The numbers are arranged in a random pattern (though the arrangement is standardized). A raceway is set on top of the pockets where the ball is initially released.
The table layout is either that for the single zero or double zero (American) game. The numbers are arranged in order in their corresponding colors. Betting options are indicated on the side of the numbers.
Gameplay And Betting
The player bets on the possible outcomes of the spin. He may bet on the ball landing on a specific number or a color, he can also bet on whether the resulting number is either even or odd. Bets are placed on their appropriate positions on the betting table.
Inside bets are made on the possible number or range of numbers that will come out of the spin. These bets offer high payouts, but have lower odds Some of the inside bets that players can make are as follows:
*Straight Up: betting on a single number
*Split: a bet on to adjacent numbers
*Street: player bets on three numbers
*Corner: A bet on any four numbers that form a square on the table.
The player can also post outside bets. These bets are mode on the possible general outcomes (for example, whether a black or red will appear). These have a greater chance of winning but pay less than inside bets.
*Black or Red: the player chooses on the possible color outcome.
*1 to 18 and 19 to 36: the players on either on of the first 18 numbers or the last 18 will come out.
*Evens or Odds: the player determines whether the outcome is an even or odd number.
There are still other bets that player's can make though these are infrequently used.

How To Increase Your Streak In Roulette
The appeal of roulette lies in large part to the chances involved in the game. The numbers are arranged randomly in the wheel, making it harder to predict where the ball would actually land. Interestingly, it is because of these that lots of strategies have been devised to gain advantage over the roulette wheel. The various strategies also range widely, a quantity of these are even developed to be used on roulette based online free casino games. Interestingly, because of the chances involved, even mathematical models have been used to determine the possible results.
Roulette strategies revolve around betting on the right number. Some games also offer much simpler betting schemes, such as on which color the ball will land. While the game is still up to pure luck, you can still increase your chances by carefully choosing your bets. A common misconception in roulette strategies is that the winning numbers follow a pattern in the long run. The thing with this is that each spin of the wheel is independent of the previous spin, masking the appearance of a trend highly unlikely. It should be noted that it is theoretically possible that a pattern will appear, but only after a ridiculous number of spins, say over a trillion spins, which is highly improbable.
Perhaps the easiest way to increase your chances is to bet on lots of numbers. The trick here is not to bet on the numbers with large starting amounts but to basically split your initial bet in to smaller amounts. While this would definitely mean a smaller payout, you wont lose a large amount of funds as compared to placing large initial bets in the hopes of making it big.
This leads to the ultimate core in roulette strategy, when to quit. Since the game centers on chances, the player will be tempted to try all his chances & play until we gets that winning streak, or we goes bankrupt. The key here is discipline. Refrain from continuous play, which can lead to losses in the long run. This one is true with web based casinos which offer free online casino bonuses. If you require to win large amounts, try playing for a few minutes & quitting after a few wins & returning later for a few more rounds. This way, you can control your losses & have a fresh start whenever you returned to the table. Perhaps the most crucial tip is to avoid being greedy & trying to win more because you are on a winning streak. This can easily backfire & will have you losing more funds when you experience losses & try recovering them back.
World's Most Famous Roulette Player
Joseph Hobson Jagger (1830-1892) - A British Engineer, referred to as, but not an exclusive holder of the title of The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo. One of the most well known among roulette enthusiasts. He was born in September 1829 in the village of Shelf near halifax, Yorkshire.
In 1873, Jagger hired six clerks to clandestinely record the outcomes of the six roulette wheels at the Beaux-Arts Casino at Monte Carlo, Monaco. He discovered that one of the six wheels showed a clear bias, in that nine of the numbers (7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 19, 22, 28 and 29) occurred more frequently than the others. He therefore placed his first bets on 7 July 1875 and quickly won a considerable amount of money, £14,000 (equivalent to around 50 times that amount, or £700,000 in 2005).
Over the next three days, Jagger amassed £60,000 in earnings with other gamblers in tow emulating his bets. In response the casino rearranged the wheels, which threw Jagger into confusion. After a losing streak, Jagger finally recalled that a scratch he noted on the biased wheel wasn't present. Looking for this telltale mark, Jagger was able to locate his preferred wheel and resumed winning.
Counterattacking again, the casino moved the frets, metal dividers between numbers, around daily. Over the next two days Jagger lost and gave up, but he took his remaining earnings, two million francs, then about £65,000 (around £3,250,000 in 2005), and left Monte Carlo never to return.
Jagger resigned from his job at the mill and invested his money in property. He is buried at Bethel Church, Shelf.
